The program is flexible with your availability and the adventures are never the same.

“My daughter’s best piece in her Duke Ellington application was a story she had done in writing camp.”

“My reluctant writers actually spent summer days writing (whoo hoo!) and were happy to do it.”

“My boys did not want to do writing camp and literally loved it. One of them wanted to publish a book afterwards.”

We write Magic, SciFi, Historical Fiction, Ghost Stories, Myths, Survival Tales and Mysteries

Campers meet up on Capitol Hill at 9am, walk or metro to the mall to a different museum each day, view an exhibit, eat lunch, and then write an original story inspired by the exhibit in the afternoon. We return at 3pm to the same spot for pickup. The kids spend the whole day asking questions, taking notes, writing, sharing their ideas, and being creative!

Meet Ms. Rachel!

After two decades teaching middle school English, I started my creative writing camp in 2016 to offer students a chance to write outside the classroom. I attended Columbia Journalism School, and am currently working on YA a novel.
